DOCTOR’S WORKBENCH

The doctor’s workbench is the gateway for doctors to the hospital management system software. It provides for a single point access to current and future appointments, past history, reminders, latest laboratory/radiology test results for both outpatients and inpatients. The CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry system) is also part of the workbench where the physician can record the patient symptoms, diagnose and suggest treatment plans. NURSE’S DESK

• ‘Nurse’s Desk’ module facilitates the smooth flow of nursing activities in the hospital. Managing nursing tasks is a piece of cake using our tool. HIMS nursing module helps to develop a care plan to improve the quality of patient care. The flow of information from other clinical modules ensures the nursing staff is well aware of each patient, giving them access to necessary clinical details. Salient features :
• Patient Charting :
  A patient’s vital signs, admission and nursing assessments, and nursing notes can be entered into the system. These are stored in a central repository and retrieved when needed.
• Clinical Data Integration :
  Here clinical information from all the disciplines can be retrieved, viewed, and analyzed by nursing staff.
• Better care planning :
  Time spent on care planning is reduced, while the quality of what is recorded is improved. This makes for more complete care plans and more complete assessments and evaluations.
• Drug administration :
  Electronically prescribed drugs are more legible, thus making it less likely that drugs would be wrongly administered to patients.

LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM

The Laboratory module automates the investigation request and the process involved in delivering the results to the concerned department/doctor of the hospital. The Laboratory module caters to Biochemistry, Cytology, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, and Neurology. The Lab module provides the following functionalities :

• The test reports can be made confidential. Tests can be performed only after the billing is done. This rule is exempted when the case is declared Urgent. In addition, this module facilitates investigations for referral patients.

ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD (EMR)

The EMR Module is a fully integrated knowledge repository that caters to Medical and clinical records of
patients in the hospital. The system supports medical professionals of various departments of the hospital with relevant information like medical examinations, diagnoses, treatment histories, test results, and so on. The module provides access to critical and complete patient data that leads to high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient patient care. The EMR has the following features. Salient features :

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

In case of an emergency, registering a patient from our emergency module is quick and easy. Responding to the criticality of the situation, the application lets the user to register a patient with minimal details. HIMS emergency module also has provision to capture medico-legal details if relevant (in case of medico-legal cases). Emergency management will encompass the following features:

• Enable emergency registration of patients by capturing key registration details
• Facility to capture details about the condition of the patient during arrival and mode of arrival
• Record and view the various activities performed by the nurse (capture of vitals, administration of medication, progress notes, etc.)
• Move patient from the emergency area into wards (inpatient)

BLOOD BANK

This module in the HIMS hospital Management Software is quite comprehensive in its nature,
maintaining all information regarding the blood donation. The details about the donors and recipients are maintained. The module is linked to other modules in the software for wards and OT in the hospital, whereby, any and all blood requirement during surgeries etc. that happens in the hospital are known to the bank. Important information and parameters such as availability of blood, cross-matching between donor’s and recipient’s blood groups and blood transfusion reactions are recorded. Also, the interactions with other blood banks within a hospital or outside and delivery/receipts of blood bags between these banks or hospitals are recorded and maintained. The Financial Accounting Module deals with Cash/Bank, Receipt/Payments, Journal Voucher and General Ledger, etc. Books like Cashbook, Bankbook, and Ledger book can be generated. This module generates reports like Trail Balance, Balance Sheet, and Profit and Loss statement. The Financial Accounting Screens describe the Account Payable, Account Receivable, and General Ledger. Also describe the activities related to IP, OP, Bank related activities, and provision to clearing the Supplier Invoice and keep track of the Account Receivable and Revenue-related activities. The services that are covered by the sponsor companies, Insurance Agencies, Family Accounts, Individual Accounts, sponsorship details of the patient, Health Card Insurance are recorded in the system.

PAYROLL

The Payroll & Personnel module deals with Pay (and deduction) calculation, the printing of salary slips, salary certificates, and PF statements, Gratuity statements, and provides a monthly analysis.

It deals with the maintenance of employee bio-data, Attendance / Overtime details.

It also reports on absenteeism, leaves encasements, etc. The Personnel & Payroll department is responsible for Employee Related Activities like appointing the staff, maintaining the employee database, Fixing allowances and deductions, Leave entitlements, Leave sanctions, Loan, Termination Process, Maintenance of Hospital documents, Insurance details, Tenancy Contracts, and Vehicle Registration.
